Science Around Us (1)

Now-a-days, digital photography is very common. In fact most handphones come with in-built digital cameras. Armed with a digital camera, a teacher can conveniently click images of various applications of science around us. These digital images can be easily downloaded into a computer to be used in relevant science lessons later. This will make the science lesson more relevant and hence more interesting.
This photograph was taken when I went to change my car tyres. The meter in the photo measured the pressure of air in the tyre. I am sure everybody knows that. The point is---can everyone make the connection between this simple act of measuring the pressure in the tyre with the lesson on air pressure in the class? This is where the role of the science teacher is very important.
